Cold Hands

I am pretty sure I will have no problem sticking to my 30 mile a week New Years Resoution, considering I've been running regularly and fairly high miles for the past few years, I just wasn't expecting the coldest day of the season this morning. I ran 5.5 miles in 12 degree weather, realfeel 2 degrees. For the first time in 5 years, my hands were in considerable pain about 15 minutes into the run. But, I'm on track to hit 35 miles this week.

2012

This year I am excited about my new year's resolutions.
I feel I did a pretty good job keeping my 2011 resolutions, some of which included:
- starting a new business from scratch (CORE RUNNING COMPANY, a retail business I opened, then sold, in August)
- spend more time with my kids
- run at least 30 miles a week (kept it until August when I moved to New York)

Our family took another big risk last year. In 2010, I walked away from a good, executive position at The Oprah Winfrey Network, to focus on opening a retail business, just to see if I could do it. Left media altogether, at arguably the top of my game. Moved out of LA to the Austin, TX area. It was fun, but not my "dream" situation, so I sold the business, and we moved back to New York City, the greatest city in America (in my opinion). So now, it's another fresh start...

For 2012, here are my resolutions:

1. Drink at least 80 oz water per day
2. Run the NYC Marathon in under 3:10
3. Be active on my blog
4. Teach my kids more: art, athletics, motivations
5. Continue my running regimine (30 miles a week, minimum)
6. Find happiness in my career choices (finish what I start)
7. Eliminate artificial creamers and sweeteners in my coffee
8. Completely eliminate soda from diet
9. Reconnect more with old friends
10. Always remember relationships are more important than work/job

Cheers
